3 Days in Singapore

Our way of spending a long weekend in the city.

Singapore is one of those cities where you can do as much or as little as you like. For three days, we'd keep things fairly relaxed — a little sightseeing, plenty of time by the pool, good food and a few sundowners along the way.

DAY ONE

Botanic Gardens
Marina Bay
Supertrees

We like to stay somewhere central. The Hyatt on Scotts is a favourite of ours, particularly for its superb swimming pool and relaxed outdoor bar. For something a little slicker, The Singapore EDITION on Cuscaden Road is another great option, with seriously good bars and a beautiful rooftop pool.

Start with the Botanic Gardens. Allow around an hour to an hour and a half to explore in the morning before heading back towards the hotel for lunch by the pool.

In the afternoon, head down to Merlion Park for a stroll around the bay, making your way towards Marina Bay Sands. Stop for sundowners at Spago or LAVO and settle in for the sunset.

Once the sun has gone down, head across to the Supertrees at Gardens by the Bay. They are worth seeing during the day, but they really come into their own after dark.

DAY TWO

Sentosa
Satay Street
Amoy Street
Duxton Hill

For a change of scene, get down to Sentosa. Have lunch at Tanjong Beach Club, then settle in for a lazy afternoon in the sun. There's no need to over-plan this one.

Get back to the hotel before dark, shower, change and head out again.

Make your way to Satay Street as the sun starts to disappear and enjoy one of Singapore's great street-food experiences.

From there, head towards Amoy Street or Duxton Hill for dinner.

There are restaurants everywhere, with pretty much every cuisine and price point you could want. We'd recommend booking ahead — the good ones can fill up quickly.

DAY THREE

Pool
Raffles
Changi

Don't try to squeeze too much into your final morning.

Have a lazy breakfast, spend some time around the pool and, if time allows, book yourself a massage.

Before heading to Changi, make a final stop at Raffles Hotel for a quick refresher. Head into the Long Bar for a Singapore Sling or, if the weather is good, settle into the sunny courtyard for a drink.

Singapore is an easy city to get around, but there are a few car journeys in this itinerary. Download the Grab app before you arrive — it makes getting around incredibly simple.

Don't try to see everything. Singapore is better when you leave yourself time for a pool, a long lunch and a drink at sunset.
